Open Days at Bath Spa University

Making the most of your BSU Open Day

Attending open days was a vital part of making sure I found the right University to attend. There are many choices so making sure you know everything they have to offer is essential in making these difficult decisions.

Attending our Open Days will ensure you have all the appropriate information from BSU, making sure you can meet students, lecturers, and academic reps who will give you all the knowledge you need about attending Bath Spa.

As a current student at Bath Spa, attending the open day was really important in helping me make the right choice. Bath Spa was a place where I felt welcomed right away; the campus felt hospitable, the students and course reps were enthusiastic and helped me realise that Bath Spa was the place for me to continue my academic journey.

Here are some things to do whilst attending an open day to help you make the most of your day.

Explore campus

Newton Park has a mix of historic buildings and high-tech equipment and facilities. An online campus map is available online but you will be given a physical copy on the day. The campus not only has all the buildings and facilities that you need but it is also located in a picturesque location, with a lake walk and plenty of animals on campus (the ducks are a student favourite!).

Locksbrook Campus is located next to the River Avon on the way into the city centre and is an award-winning campus which celebrates and encourages creativity. It also has technical workshops, social spaces and studios for students and staff to use. An map of Locksbrook is available on the main campus page.

Check out student accommodation

Both campuses have student accommodation. Locksbrook is located a short walk from the campus on lower Bristol Road. It is conveniently located near shops and bus stations, so you have easy access into town.

On open days you are able to speak to students about accommodation and any queries you may have about applying. We also offer tours of the accommodation blocks so you can get a better feel of the space.

Meet students and staff

On the day, staff and student ambassadors will be available to welcome you to campus, offer you information, and help you navigate the day. Student ambassadors will be posted all around campus and will be happy to help and answer any questions you may have about life at BSU. They will also be offering campus tours where you will be shown around the campus and the state-of-the-art facilities we have. As well as chatting to student ambassadors, course reps will be available within The Commons building to talk about any course specific questions you have.

Buses are also available; the U5 will get you to and from town, and a shuttlebus will be available outside the library to get you between Newton Park and Locksbrook Campus.

Discover what we can offer you

Bath Spa not only offers an educational experience, but it also offers a variety of other services. These include finance, student accommodation, and student wellbeing. People will be available on the open day to discuss this in person, as well as a few talks throughout the day dedicated to offering you information about these. However, if you want any information before you attend your open day they are available here: student accommodation, fees and funding, and student wellbeing.

Learn about student life

As well as meeting students who can tell you about the campus, courses, and the more academic side of things, you can also learn more about Bath and what it has to offer you. Bath has many recognisable historic landmarks including Bath Abbey and The Roman Baths; however the city has a lot more to offer than this and is a wonderful place for you to discover culture, food, and new experiences.
