Reskill and RESTART

RESTART: Post-pandemic retraining programme launched by Bath College and Bath Spa University reverts to online delivery.

Even in this current lockdown, RESTART is still here for you. The programme provides a timely and flexible opportunity for those requiring a fresh and different set of technical and employability skills to secure their current or different future employment. And we've gone further to support our learners throughout lockdown by delivering the programme online.

What is RESTART?

RESTART is a post-pandemic recovery package of inclusive skills and reskilling with a core aim of ensuring the local community has access to learning. Now, more so than ever, Bath College and Bath Spa University feel passionately that people are not left behind at a time when jobs and futures are being adversely affected.

RESTART exists to provide our community with inspiring and accessible opportunities to reskill and maximise employment opportunities through exploration of skills that employers need now. It's the perfect opportunity for anyone looking to develop new skills to attain employment or explore a new sector.

RESTART plans its curriculum and delivery alongside local industry ensuring that learners develop the skills that employers need, right now.

Who is it for?

The programme benefits those looking to begin new journeys in their careers, those recently made redundant, furloughed or looking to start their own business venture. Candidates will explore a wide range of pathways to employment and will develop skills within a multitude of business settings to enable them to fill gaps on their CVs and progress in the workplace.

"The RESTART programme has helped me identify a new direction for my writing and given me the tools to progress effectively. The tutor support is beyond expectation." Celia Middleton, RESTART participant

Going online

So that we can continue to support learners at this time, the following modules will now be taught online:

  • Improving Your Communication Skills
  • Stay Motivated
  • Develop Your Potential
  • Get That Job
  • Marketing
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Customer Service In a Digital World
  • Essential Digital Skills (expressions of interest).

“We had to respond quickly to the recent government announcement as the current lockdown situation doesn’t change, and actually accelerates the need for reskilling and upskilling. By reverting to online our tutors can continue to provide participants with skills they require for the workplace.” Andy Salmon, Pro-Vice Chancellor External at Bath Spa University,

Bath College and Bath Spa University are proud of this joint venture which is free and open to anyone over the age of 19.
