Our Navigators help us to guide students through their university experience by raising awareness of the services and support available.

Student Wellbeing Navigators positively contribute to the student experience by representing Student Wellbeing Services at a range of events and activities, and delivering peer-led initiatives that build a sense of community and belonging.

Navigators promote Student Wellbeing Services to the University community and deliver the Look After Your Mate initiative, aimed at enabling effective peer-led conversations that build awareness of services available and how they can be accessed.

Look After Your Mate

The Look After Your Mate training is an initiative led by Student Minds, the UK’s student mental health charity. This training is designed to empower students to support friends experiencing mental health difficulties, while looking after their own wellbeing.

Navigating university life can be tricky at times and we know how important it is for an individual to reach out to their friends in times of need. We want students to have the knowledge, confidence and skills to support their friends and feel comfortable confiding in each other.
