Working part-time alongside your course can help to give you more financial stability and allow you to meet your living costs, but it's important to keep your work and studies balanced so that you reach your full potential.
How much should you work?
If you're a full-time student, we recommend that you don’t work more than 20 hours per week during term time, but we recognise that this isn’t always possible. If you're an international student, you must follow the rules of your visa.
For more information, read our guide to working while you study.
How to find a part-time job
The University Careers service can support you to find work that fits around your studies and give advice and guidance on applying for jobs.
You can access the job shop through the MyCareer service, where you can find job opportunities including those on campus.
Wellbeing support
Student Wellbeing Services offers a range of support and guidance for students who may wish to discuss any worries or concern that working long hours may be causing, including signposting and helping you to apply for the University’s hardship funds - you can book an appointment with one of our Wellbeing Advisors through MyWellbeing.
