Turing Global Dissertation Research Award – Bath Spa University

Take your dissertation research one step further with the Turing Global Dissertation Research Award.

The Turing Scheme is the UK government’s programme to provide funding for international opportunities in education and training across the world.

Through this scheme, Bath Spa University has the opportunity to provide a limited number of grants. A grant is non-repayable, and will be used to cover some costs towards your trip abroad, such as flights, insurance, accommodation and other living expenses.

Funding available

If your placement is between four to eight weeks long, you can receive:

  • £136.25 per week for Group 1 destinations
  • £120 per week for Group 2 and 3 destinations

If you meet certain eligibility criteria, you will receive a higher weekly amount, as well as a contribution towards your flights, depending on how far you travel:

  • 10 to 99km: £20
  • 100 to 499km: £165
  • 500 to 1999km: £250
  • 2,000 to 2,999km: £325
  • 3,000 to 3,999km: £480
  • 4,000 to 7,999km: £745
  • 8,000 to 12,000km: £905
  • 12,000km+: £1,360

Criteria

This award is aimed at students who are going abroad to undertake research for their dissertation. 

  • A placement must have a 28-day minimum duration.
  • Turing funding is available for both undergraduate and postgraduate students at Bath Spa.
  • Applications for retrospective funding will not be considered.
