Get £500 to boost your first year if you achieve higher than your predicted grades or get AAB in your A-levels (or equivalent).

The Undergraduate Scholarship is a one-off payment of £500 for students who are starting their studies at BSU in September 2024 or September 2025 and meet the criteria outlined below.

Criteria

To qualify, you'll need to apply through UCAS and satisfy our Admissions requirements (including through Confirmation or Clearing), and be starting your studies in September 2024 or September 2025.

You’ll then need to:

  • Achieve better than your predicted grades, or
  • Achieve outstanding grades of at least AAB in your A-levels (or equivalent).

Applications

There's no need to apply for this scholarship. You'll qualify automatically if the above criteria are met.

How it works

  • If you are eligible for The Undergraduate Scholarship, the Student Finance Office will write to you and email your student account.
  • Please make sure that you check your account regularly as it contains important information about the payment of your scholarship.
  • You’ll hear whether you’ve qualified for your scholarship within the first four weeks after you've enrolled in the 24/25 or 25/26 academic year.
  • If you’ve met the conditions and are continuing your studies at Bath Spa University, you’ll receive £500 towards the end of the following January.

Payment details

We’ll make a payment directly into your account via BACS. To receive your payment, it’s essential you enter your bank details into the University portal. If we don’t have your details, we can’t make the payment.

FAQs

What if I want to defer my place?

If you choose to defer your place (or suspend your studies before January 2025) you won’t be eligible for The Undergraduate Scholarship.

If you’ve already deferred and are planning to register on a September 2024 or September 2025 course, you will be eligible for the scholarship – as long as you can prove you’ve met the qualification criteria.

What if I decide to change my course at Bath Spa University – will I still get my scholarship?

Yes, you’ll still receive your scholarship, provided the new course meets the original scholarship criteria and is a full-time Bath Spa University undergraduate degree due to begin in September 2024 or September 2025.

Other forms of financial support

You can only receive one scholarship worth £500 from this specific scheme. However, there are other scholarships and forms of financial support available.
