Sanctuary scholarship
Financial support for students from refugee and asylum-seeking communities.

As part of our commitment to inclusion, we will be annually awarding a Sanctuary Scholarship to students from refugee and asylum-seeking communities.
What's included
The scholarship includes:
- An annual bursary of up to £2,000 for the duration of the undergraduate programme of study (up to 3 years) as a contribution towards study costs.
- If required, you will receive an accommodation fee waiver for the first year of your undergraduate studies. The accommodation fee waiver is for residence in Bath Spa University Halls of Residence only and the room allocation is at the discretion of the University.
- If you are ineligible for student finance, you will receive a full tuition fee waiver to cover tuition fees for the duration of the undergraduate programme of study (up to 3 years).
Criteria
Applications are welcomed from individuals seeking asylum in the UK, refugees, and those individuals in the UK under the government’s Homes for Ukraine Scheme and the Ukraine Family Scheme.
- All applicants must have applied to study their first undergraduate degree at Bath Spa University for 2023-24 entry.
- Conditional and unconditional offer holders will be considered for the scholarship.
- All applicants must be residing in the UK for the duration of the undergraduate programme of study.
- The terms and conditions outline further details on the eligibility criteria. The Sanctuary Scholarship is awarded at the sole discretion of Bath Spa University.
