Support for Ukraine
"Homes for Ukraine" provides Ukrainians who have been forced to flee their homes with a route to safety in the UK
Following the invasion of Ukraine, the UK government has launched a new sponsorship scheme – “Homes for Ukraine” – to make sure that Ukrainians who have been forced to flee their homes have a route to safety in the UK.
Individuals sponsoring Ukrainians
Phase one of the sponsorship scheme allows individuals to sponsor Ukrainians who do not have already established family ties to the UK.
Sponsorship involves providing residential accommodation for a minimum of six months. If you're able and willing to become a sponsor you can register your interest by visiting the Homes for Ukraine website which includes a link to FAQs.
Bath Spa University support
Bath Spa's Immigration Advice Service is assisting to match named Ukrainian applicants, who have links to Bath Spa University, with individuals in the Bath Spa University community who are willing to sponsor them.
If you're willing to act as a sponsor and successfully register through the scheme, please email immigrationadvice@bathspa.ac.uk so that we can help to put you in touch with prospective Ukrainian applicants.
Bath Spa University has published a letter of support for Ukrainian colleagues.
The new Bath Spa University Sanctuary Scholarship is awarded to students from refugee and asylum-seeking communities, including individuals in the UK under the government’s Homes for Ukraine Scheme and the Ukraine Family Scheme.
