Disability Activism and Advocacy research conducted by We Are The People and funded by the Wellcome Trust.
Who are we?
We Are The People is a small research team of disabled activists and academics based in South West England.
To find out more about this organisation, visit the We Are The People webpage.
What do we want to do?
Through our research, we want to:
- Learn about disabled people’s experiences of activism and advocacy
- Find out what barriers disabled people face when taking part in activism and advocacy, along with how this can be improved
- Share this information with activist organisations and the community
How are we researching this?
- An online survey
- Creative 'zine' (magazine) workshops
What will we do with our findings?
- Create academic reports
- Create a report for activist groups
- Create a zine that will be available online for free and have a limited number of print copies to share around Bristol and Bath
- Use it in events at Bath Spa University
