Course studied: BA (Hons) Dance
Graduating year: 2014

Leanne Oddy graduated with a first class honours degree in Dance from Bath Spa and went on gain a Master's in Dance Performance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

"It's a unique course in a unique place. I left feeling fully satisfied with my time there and the city is an amazing place to spend three years, too."

Leanne's Bath Spa story

I'm so grateful for my time at Bath Spa, not only gaining excellent training in Dance, but making lifelong friends with interesting, like-minded people in the beautiful surroundings at the University campus meant for an all-round fulfilling experience.

It was especially important to me to have the opportunity to collaborate with other students and professionals from all art forms which we were fully encouraged to do. Having the course based on the campus meant this was made easy, with the music block right next door.

Since graduating, I was accepted to do a Master's in Dance Performance at Trinity Laban, and I graduated in 2015 while also being a member of Transitions Dance Company. Through this programme, we performed works by three choreographers and toured the triple bill internationally.

Alongside this I was a Teaching Assistant on the Centre for Advanced Training programme at Trinity Laban and have continued outreach work for them.

I have set up classes in my local town since relocating to Leeds and have a part-time job as Social Media Adviser, while still auditioning and delving into my own research in embodiment of movement, and continuing professional development in specialised movement forms such as body weather.

"My advice for current students is..."

Make the most of it! You will miss it once it's over and the course really can take you to special places. Put your whole self in.

"The best thing about the course was..."

My classmates and the teachers' generosity and openness!
