Personal statement

Roy joined Bath Spa in September 2015, having previously worked as Programme Leader for Drama at the University of Sunderland, and in lecturing roles at Edge Hill University and the University of Ulster. He has published widely on a range of Drama topics, presented papers at international conferences, secured funding bids and carried out peer reviews for journals, the higher education academy and the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).

His publications include the monograph "Fighting the Waves: The Lyric Theatre, Belfast", commissioned chapters on Irish playwrights in the series "British and Irish Playwrights since World War II" and contributions to the following journals: Irish Studies Review, Journal of Theatre History Studies, Studies in Theatre and Performance, About Performance, The Curriculum Journal, Innovations in Teaching and Learning International, and the Journal of European Comic Art.

His work has also included a range of collaborations with colleagues from disciplines including Education, Gender Studies and Psychology.
