Personal statement

Milenne has a diverse background spanning creative work, 3D artistry, business, teaching, and digital technology, all underpinned by a strong commitment to sustainability. From visualising cycling routes in London to running an augmented reality business, Milenne has always focused on using digital technologies responsibly and innovatively.

These varied experiences have not only shaped a unique perspective and expertise but also reinforced her dedication to promoting sustainability in every project. Whether in industry or education, Milenne consistently integrates sustainable practices, aiming to create a lasting, positive impact through digital solutions.

After earning a Master’s Degree in 3D Animation and Visualisation from Bournemouth University, Milenne began her career in the UK, working on interactive 3D experiences. After spending time in Spain, where she created some of the first online VR experiences for museums—such as the interactive VR exhibitions for the Salon de Reinos in Madrid, the Wax Museum, and the Chocolate Museum in Barcelona.

After returning to London, she worked in visual effects, on films such as The Chronicles of Narnia and Prince Caspian and others. Milenne also worked for 4 years in the DVD industry, designing 3D interactive DVDs for various clients, including the BBC, Warner Bros, and Pathé Films, with the DVD for the film Memento winning the BAFTA Interactive Award.

Later, Milenne founded a 3D visualisation business, working on key projects such as collaborating with the London Cycling Campaign, where their visualisations helped secure miles of new cycle lanes. Milenne also designed the "Safer Lorry, Safer London" vehicle for a campaign that reached the European Parliament. Following this, she worked with the Department for Transport for several years, helping to communicate cycling projects and routes to stakeholders and supporting public consultations.

Expanding into augmented reality, she collaborated with a variety of clients, from small businesses to large manufacturers, developing AR campaigns for exhibitions and enhancing training through gamification. Their growing interest in sustainability, combined with the diversity of projects, led her to explore digital fashion as a new avenue for innovation.

With prior experience teaching in creative media, Milenne transitioned more into education in 2021, becoming a lecturer and course leader in Games Development at Fareham College, where sustainability was integrated into the games curriculum. In February 2024, she joined Bath Spa University, teaching 3D modelling, game art, games design, and extended realities.

At Bath Spa, she focuses on student achievement, fostering their commitment to learning, building their confidence in their work, and helping them connect their creative careers to positive outcomes—not only for their own success but for the future of society and the planet.

Passionate about using digital technologies for sustainability, Milenne continues to promote responsible innovation and creativity in the next generation of digital artists.
