Personal statement

Dr. Kimberley Davies is a Lecturer in Physical Geography within the School of Sciences. 

She is a Quaternary Scientist specialising in using palaeoecological proxies to understand long-term environmental change with a particular focus on cold environments. 

Academic qualifications

  • PhD, University of Southampton
  • MSc in Quaternary Science, University College London and Royal Holloway
  • BSc (Hons) in Physical Geography, University of Southampton

Professional memberships

  • Quaternary Research Association (QRA) 

Teaching specialisms

Dr Kim Davies currently teaches core geographical skills and advanced specialist environmental methods across a number of programmes in the School of Sciences, including Geography, Environmental Sciences and Global Development and Sustainability. 

She is also the leader on the following modules: 

  • Environmental Change
  • Geographical Research Methods
  • Disaster Risk Reduction .
