Personal statement

Greg Jamieson is a Lecturer in Game Development on the BSc (Hons) Games Development course. He is a technical artist who has worked across many creative digital disciplines. Greg has been working in education for nearly 20 years and has authored digital creative degrees for several universities.

With a background in Physics, he has a deep interest in projects that combine Art and Science. As Co-Director of Spinn Creative Greg works with commercial entities, from Photonics to Property Management, Greg is looking into how gamification and extended realities can provide intuitive solutions to industries outside recreational gaming.

He has experience of working with a network of academics from China to Bristol; current research investigates how aesthetic can inform narrative design and gameplay. The gamification of assessment and attainment is of particular interest to Greg due to his tenure as an educator. He's also interested in using the player experience to gain insights into engagement and apply gamified methodologies to assessment processes.
