Personal statement

Gina Blaxill is an Associate Lecturer on the MA Writing for Young People. Recently, she's published YA thriller You Can Trust Me (2022, Scholastic) and two teen fairy tale retellings, Good Enough to Eat and All the Better to See You (2022 and 2021, Scholastic). She's also published three YA crime-thrillers with Macmillan - Pretty Twisted (an e-book bestseller), Forget Me Never (winner of the Oldham Brilliant Book Awards 2013) and Saving Silence (winner of the Warwickshire Year 9 Book Award 2014 and nominated for the Carnegie Medal). Her next YA thriller will be published in 2023.

She has a MA (Cantab) in English Literature and also works as a freelance editor for a literary consultancy. Prior to that she worked in university outreach and student recruitment.
