Personal statement

Anca is the Economics Programme Lead and a Senior Lecturer in Business and Management. She is the Module Leader for a number of modules (listed below), having previously taught on a range of modules within the Bath Business School:

Anca joined Bath Spa University in October 2017 having previously conducted research and worked as a Seminar Leader for Business Economics at the University of Bath.

Anca is enthusiastic about the topics she teaches, and is a communicative lecturer who strives to create a trusting and open environment in her classrooms. She takes every opportunity to link theory to practical examples and case studies, to ensure her students can truly connect to the topics discussed.

Anca's research bridges the gap between Management and Psychology and she is currently conducting research into cognitive bias and cognitive management. Her previous work and research have directly contributed to her ever growing passion for this topic, which explores the ways in which both positive and negative cognitive bias can lead to suboptimal decision making. This is particularly an issue when faced with making decisions about new technology adoption projects.
