Amy Sergeant – Bath Spa University

Personal statement

Amy is a versatile producer, writer, and mixer specialising in indie-folk & alt-pop. Having found her passion for music through playing guitar and songwriting, she brings both creative energy and technical know-how to every project.

She has recently engineered for Bastille, Wet Leg & Mae Stephens and at the MPG Awards 2024, she was the recipient of the 'Rising Star Award', an award which recognises an engineer who had a breakthrough year.

Her early career was spent working closely with emerging artists on the Bristol music scene, where her contributions helped shape the sound of their formative releases. Many of these tracks went on to garner support from BBC Introducing & Spotify editorial playlists. It was during this time that she met broadcast mix engineer, Toby Alington, who she has worked alongside at the Brit Awards for the last seven years.

In 2021, Amy relocated to London and became a valuable member of the Miloco Studios team. There, she assisted with tracking sessions for Florence & The Machine, Wolf Alice, and The Vamps, while also lending her engineering skills to Aleyna Tilki and Fergus.

Following this, Amy was selected to be Spotify’s in-house engineer as part of their EQUAL Residency Program at Metropolis Studios. During these six months, she engineered their ‘Riffs n Runs’ writing camp (FLO, Mahalia, Bellah & Rodney Jerkins) as well over 100 sessions with songwriters, producers & artists from across the world.
