Witness the best that BSU has to offer at the 2024 MA Degree Show

Bath Spa University is proud to be supporting and showcasing the works of our MA Fine Art and MA Design students at the 2024 MA Degree Show.

The event, held at our Locksbrook campus on Locksbrook road in Bath, will showcase the very best work of our graduating students, with a wide range of creative pieces on display.

The showcase event starts on Saturday 14 September and runs until Wednesday 18 September, with a private view held on Friday 13 September (18:00-21:00). Entry is free, with the showcase open each day from 10:00-18:00.

As with our Undergraduate Degree Show, the MA Degree Show offers students the chance to showcase their work to the public, as well as invite family and friends to view their creative portfolio.

Andrew Southall, Subject Coordinator for MA Design, said:

“The MA Show is the culmination of the MA Design and MA Fine Art year. All our students put on a show in their chosen medium, ranging from the array of programme pathways. The MA programmes allow students to explore an area, or a topic in depth, questioning their medium and making exciting new works based on rigorous research, within a well understood critical and professional context.”

Charlie Tweed, Subject Coordinator for MA Fine Art, also added:

“The MA Fine Art team are very excited for the opening of this year's Master's show; we have an exceptional set of works on display from a highly engaged group of students who have made some real breakthroughs in their practice during a highly rewarding year on the programme.”

MA Design

This year's Design students have produced books for children and young adults, a graphic novel, a range of 12" record designs, textiles that explore cultural tourism, a filmic underworld and a state of psychological adversity, along with a visual communication project that contrasts a world of order and chaos.

MA Fine Art

This year's MA Fine Art students have developed a rich and diverse set of works across moving image, ceramics, photography, installation, sculpture, performance and socially engaged practice. Students are also running workshops and talks throughout the exhibition

The MA Degree promises to once again be an awe-inspiring event that celebrates our students whilst reflecting the importance of our creativity and confidence.

The 2024 MA Degree Show runs from Saturday 14 September and runs until Wednesday 18 September.
