Bath Spa University nominated for two sustainability awards

Bath Spa University is continuing to add to its credentials as a sustainable university, with two nominations for the 2023 Green Gown UK and Ireland Awards.  

Bath Spa is one of only 11 universities nominated in the 2030 Climate Action category for its Phase 1 Decarbonisation project, and Sustainability Manager Julian Greaves is one of just 15 finalists in the Sustainability Champion category. 

Talking about the nominations, Julian said:

“Developing our carbon reduction management programme was what I came here to do, so I'm happy to see it through.” 

Established in 2004, the Green Gown Awards recognise the exceptional sustainability initiatives being undertaken by universities and colleges. With sustainability moving up the agenda, the Awards have become established as the most prestigious recognition of best practice within the further and higher education sector.  

Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Liverpool on 30 November.
