Graduates invited to celebrate big day at festival-themed Gradstock party

Graduation is one of the most anticipated dates on the BSU calendar, and this year graduates will be able to celebrate their achievements in style at Bath’s iconic Recreation Ground.

Following the success of the University’s post-Graduation celebrations at Parade Gardens last year, the Graduation team wanted to create an even bigger and better celebration for this year’s cohort. Gradstock, named for the famous 1969 Woodstock music festival in America, will offer a festival-themed celebration with food, drink, performances and more, for over 3,000 BSU graduates, their families, friends and supporters.

Graduates will start the party with a free drink and will also be invited to join Heads of School and Subject Leaders for smaller events to celebrate their individual courses. Guests will also be able to purchase a wide range of refreshments and can even book an afternoon tea if they’re after something a bit more traditional.

Immersive performances, showcased by the Natural Theatre Company, will feature throughout the event, with a host of comedic acts and live music available during the day. The event runs until 7 PM and offers celebrating students the opportunity to enjoy the fruits of their labour. A gown drop-off point will also be available for those looking to stay late.

Helen Jacobs, Academic Registrar at Bath Spa University, spoke of her excitement ahead of the event:

“We are really excited to be able to provide Graduates and their guests with the opportunity to celebrate their achievements at the historic Bath Recreation ground.

It will be a wonderful opportunity for our graduates to reconnect with friends and academic staff, while sharing their collective accomplishments in fun, immersive surroundings”

Entry is free and Graduates and their guests can attend before or after their ceremonies. Graduates can let the team know they plan to attend by booking a free ticket.
