Friday, 26 November, 2021

Global Banking School (GBS) and Bath Spa University have joined forces to offer a range of courses to GBS students around the UK. Top-up degrees and postgraduate courses accredited by Bath Spa University will be delivered at GBS’ campuses in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds.

Vice-Chancellor of Bath Spa University, Professor Sue Rigby said: “We are delighted to confirm our new and exciting partnership with Global Banking School. At Bath Spa we put our students at the heart of everything we do, including focusing on opportunities to enhance their career prospects and entrepreneurial skills, and this ethos is replicated in our new partner.

“GBS understands the need to equip students with skills and opportunities to be successful in an ever-competitive job market, both in the UK and internationally. It is this alignment in the aims of our institutions that will make this partnership a success.”

Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor of Bath Spa University, Dr Rebecca Philip said: “We are looking forward to developing the partnership further. Together we can respond to the higher education ambitions of diverse communities, address the skills gap in local markets and develop employer ready graduates.”

Professor Ray Lloyd, Chief Executive Office of GBS, said:

“We are delighted to be working with Bath Spa University to open access to even more students. We have many shared values with Bath Spa University and this partnership will help us both achieve even more success in widening access, particularly in postgraduate study.”

Widening access to higher education is a key value for GBS. Professor Lloyd continued: “We share with BSU the belief that Higher Education should be available to as many of the population as possible. The majority of our students are returning to education later in their lives and enjoy the flexibility and the comprehensive student support GBS offer. We work hard to deliver an outstanding education to all our students to ensure they gain a return on the investment they are making in their future. Our success in achieving this is reflected in our outstanding student outcomes and very high student satisfaction rates.”

GBS will offer Bath Spa University's BA (Hons) Business and Management Progression Route (Level 6). In the future the range of courses will also include:

  • MA Business and Management
  • MA Marketing and Brand Management
  • MBA (Master of Business Administration) Leadership

These courses complement the existing range of options available at GBS and will see Bath Spa Master's degrees becoming available to students studying in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds.

Bath Spa University offers a wide programme of courses across art, sciences, education, social science and business.

GBS deliver a range of vocational, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in banking, finance, accounting, business, tourism and technology. They take an inclusive approach to recruiting students, with an aim to widening access to higher education among groups currently under-represented in the HE sector.
