Thursday, 23 May, 2024

On Wednesday 22 May, Creative Bath hosted the annual Creative Bath Awards, shining a spotlight on the best and most successful creative, cultural and tech organisations and individuals based in Bath.

As headline sponsors, Bath Spa University joined the exciting event to celebrate this year’s nominees and award winners. BSU graduates and many of the University’s partner organisations were in the running for the tightly contested awards.

Creating this year’s Creative Bath Awards

Bath Spa University was also proudly represented in the physical awards themselves, with third year Product and Furniture Design student Louise Aubrey winning the commission to design this year’s prizes.

Speaking about getting the chance to design this year’s awards, Louise said:

“I'm really grateful to have been chosen to make these awards. I'm really excited to add these to my portfolio and I'm grateful that I could use this experience to inform my final project.”

Louise’s design features an elegant curve that evokes Bath architecture, with Creative Bath’s new logo proudly sat within it. The awards are cast in Bath stone jesmonite, further linking them to the City’s heritage and culture.

Celebrating our graduates

Representatives from across Bath’s creative community gathered at Komedia for this year’s ceremony.

Our BSU graduates had a wonderful evening, winning awards for creativity and entrepreneurship:

  • Gigi Cooke, Product and Furniture Design graduate, won the greatly prized Creative Student award. Gigi recently took the world of furniture design by storm, with her creation ‘Archie’ - a versatile piece of furniture that can be used as a stool, coffee table or side table - receiving widespread praise and coverage.
