Friday, 31 January, 2025Bath Spa University is pleased to announce that it has retained its HR Excellence in Research Award after the submission of its 12-year review.
This is a significant international award that provides an important benchmark to research funders and collaborators. It reflects the University's current and ongoing commitment to maintaining an active research portfolio, developing the research environment for BSU staff and students and building on areas of strength while also fostering new research areas.
Professor John Strachan, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Research and Enterprise, said:
“I am delighted that Bath Spa University has retained its HR Excellence in Research Award after a rigorous 12-year external review process. As one of the first 50 UK Universities to receive this EU badge of accreditation, this is a strong endorsement of the support that we have in place for our research staff community. I encourage people to read our Action Plan and the annual report linked to this, which charts progress against the principles of the Concordat to Support Researcher Development and is approved by the University’s Board of Governors.”
Arlene Stone, Director of Human Resources added:
“I am really pleased that our continued contribution in the process has enabled the University to retain the accreditation, demonstrating the value of our people and the work the HR department does to enable the University to deliver its goals.”
The University offers a comprehensive Researcher Development Programme for all staff and research students, providing training, workshops, development opportunities, resources and events to suit the individual needs of the researchers within its community.
BSU’s Research Strategy aligns with and supports the University’s overall mission to make a difference in the world, focusing on six key objectives to direct its research activities and expectations.
