Bath Spa University nominated for two Bath Life Awards

Friday, 14 February, 2025

Bath Spa University has scooped two nominations for the 2025 Bath Life Awards, in the Education and Employer categories. This is the first year the University has been a finalist in more than one category.

The Education category, sponsored by The Forum, celebrates teaching and education-focused establishments that teach in innovative and particularly effective ways or have had an impact on the wider community through education. Throughout 2024 BSU has continued to champion the transformative power of education through educational and cultural partnerships, short courses and inclusive community work.

The Employer category recognises the best employers in the city, with BSU boasting notable improvements in staff benefits and recruitment, making them more accessible via digital platforms, and for its dedication to fostering an inclusive community through staff networks and other Equality, Diversity and Inclusion initiatives.

Lucy Stone, Head of Communications and Brand Development, said:

“We are thrilled to have been recognised as a Finalist in the Education and Employer categories in the Bath Life Awards. It’s a testament to how we have an inclusive approach to reaching new learners in our community, not only through our undergraduate and post graduate degrees, but also through our fast-growing and impressive short course unit which offers skills training for a wide range of students.

“We are proud to be one of the largest employers in Bath, with over 1200 staff working across the city, and to be recognised as investing in our people and places. Congratulations to all the other finalists, it truly shows what an innovative and vibrant city Bath is, and we are looking forward to celebrating together on the Awards evening in March.”

BSU was proud to be named the Sunday Times University of the Year for Social Inclusion in 2024, recognising the University’s commitment to empowering students from all backgrounds to succeed in higher education and embed inclusion in the wider community.

Other finalists included BSU’s cultural partners Bath Arts Collective, Bath Carnival, Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution, The Holburne Museum and Komedia.

Winners will be announced at a ceremony at The Forum in Bath on Thursday 27 March.
