Bath Social Impact Network returns for 2025

Friday, 28 February, 2025

Bath Spa University is proud to announce the relaunch of the Bath Social Impact Network (BSIN). Relaunching on 13 March at Newark Works, the occasion will be marked with a celebratory event attended by some of the most prominent players in social change in the South West.

As part of the event, the network will be discussing their plans for 2025 including introducing the three new areas of focused support : BCorps, Social Enterprises and Cultural Organisations.

First launched in 2023 as a partnership between Bath Spa University and 3SG, the Bath Social Impact Network is the first of its kind in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES).

The network, which has over 200 members, was created with social enterprises at the heart, along with B Corps, CICs, co-ops, and those interested in the work of these types of organisations. BSIN has held past events exploring topics including the funding landscape of B&NES, social enterprise accreditation and how network members can collaborate in the future.

Aimed at bringing together groups and individuals with a shared purpose of improving and growing the social economy in the region, Bath Social Impact Network works collaboratively to best serve the needs of the network.

Speaking ahead of the relaunch event, Bath Spa University’s Head of Business Development Hannah Whiting said:

"Over the past two years, the Bath Social Impact Network has amassed nearly 250 likeminded individuals and organisations, keen to explore how we can grow the social economy and our impact in the region. We're excited to celebrate our achievements at our relaunch event, and move forward in our work supporting all the purposeful businesses and individuals in BaNES to collaborate and grow in 2025."Attendees of the relaunch event will hear from guest speakers including Social Enterprise UK and Bath and North East Somerset Council, supporters of the Network, and Cool Ventures, partners of the network.”

Becky Brooks, Director of 3SG added:

“Since its formation, it has been rewarding to see connections grow and the strengthening of a social economy in B&NES. We are very fortunate that we have start-up offers through Cool Ventures and sustainability through the Social Economy West programme that 3SG runs here in B&NES, funded by the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority. BSIN can act as the umbrella under which these offers sit, and we are really excited for its future, which will be offering more targeted support so that we have a really comprehensive social economy programme here in B&NES."

BSIN will be supporting these different organisations across BaNES by offering support and guidance for those looking to start a social enterprise or reach BCorp status, opportunities for Social Enterprises looking to influence change at both local and national level, signposting opportunities for funding support in the sector and providing networking events tailored for the needs of different organisations.
