BSU teams up with Bath City Youth
Tuesday, 11 February, 2025This summer, Bath Spa University were unveiled as the proud new front of shirt sponsors for Bath City Football Club’s men’s team.
Bolstering the University’s existing partnership with the club, which already includes sponsorship of the stadium and women’s team, the deal struck in the summer of 2024 has already heightened the university’s profile across the country and brought together two pillars of the local community.
As part of that original sponsorship deal, Bath Spa University is proud to announce that it is also supporting Bath City Youth, an affiliate of the club that supports young footballers from the ages of 5-18.
Both the Under 18’s and under 17’s youth teams will now proudly boast BSU’s logo on the front of their shirts, representing the institution amongst a key recruitment demographic. Not only that, but this will be the first time that both the youth team and men's team share the same sponsor, providing an aspirational pathway for young players.
BSU and Bath City FC have been working together for a number of years, with this latest deal serving to strengthen the ties between the university and the club.
Speaking about the sponsorship, Lucy Stone, head of Brand and Communications at BSU said:
"We are delighted to be extending BSU's sponsorship to the Bath City Youth under 18 and under 17 teams, building on our existing relationship with the club as shirt sponsors of Bath City FC Men’s team and Women’s team. It’s vitally important that the University engages with local young people and supports our community, and are proud to cheer on the team as they play matches across the South West, throughout the season.”
BSU prides itself on supporting those within the local community and this latest sponsorship is indicative of the university’s commitment to social enterprise and inclusion.
Bath City Youth’s U17’s coach Tim Aston reflected on the sponsorship from the team’s perspective:
“It’s great to have sponsorship from Bath Spa University this season. I think it’s important for the team to be recognised and also to help inspire young people to pursue higher education.”
Bath City Football Club and Bath Spa University are proud to have worked together for a number of years and will continue to work together through sponsorship, student-led events and volunteering opportunities.
