BSU begins new partnership with Roseberry Road Studios

Friday, 4 April, 2025

Bath Spa University has embarked on a new partnership with Roseberry Road Studios, which will provide an ongoing collaboration with BSU’s School of Art, Film and Media.

Based in the Twerton area of Bath, Roseberry Road Studios is an exhibition and event site renowned for providing inspiring creative spaces for arts and media practice and supporting innovative and critical work across a range of mediums, including visual arts, music, performance, dance, and film.

Over the next two years, the School will benefit from use of their exhibition spaces plus their cafe and bar whilst working together to co-run events, internships, and exhibitions, exploring a breadth of opportunities for joint projects and encouraging students in Fine Art, Creative Arts Practice and Photography to engage with Roseberry Road’s events and activities.

Chief Executive at Roseberry Road Studios, James Carlin B.E.M, said:

“We are delighted to formalise this existing partnership with our neighbours at BSU. We can offer a professional environment for students to showcase their work and exciting opportunities to integrate with the wider creative arts scene in Bath and beyond.”

This partnership will facilitate unique professional practice opportunities for students, including the chance to develop public exhibitions of their work, curate events and respond to live briefs with the Roseberry Road Studios Arts Organisation. There are also opportunities for students in Film and Media to work with the organisation on live briefs for digital content production.

The integration between students and the organisation not only provides a platform for emerging talent but also a space for students to showcase their work to the public, alongside access to their gallery, event spaces and cafe.

Subject Leader in Art and School Strategic Lead – External Engagement, Dr Charlie Tweed, said:

"This is a really exciting partnership that will provide our students with some brilliant opportunities to exhibit their work offsite, curate events and exhibitions, and develop their professional practice skills."
