Award-winning food served at Bath Spa University

Food for life award logoThe Bath Spa Catering team’s hard work has been recognised with a Silver Food for Life Award from the Soil Association. This extends across the University’s Newton Park and Sion Hill campuses, as well as its Newton Park-based Oak Tree Day Nursery.

The Food for Life Award carries the following requirements:

  • At least 75% of food on Food for Life Served Here menus is freshly prepared from scratch on site at Newton Park
  • The Silver Food for Life Served Here award recognises that we serve a range of ingredients from ethical and more environmentally friendly sources, including at least 5% organic food
  • Food for Life Served Here ensures good quality, nutritious food and drinks are served alongside support and encouragement for children in the first five years of life to develop good eating habits for life.

Rachel Roberts, Bath Spa Catering and Hospitality Manager said: "Both myself and Dan our Deputy Catering Manager are really pleased that the great work from Head Chef David West and our Catering team has been recognised - well done to everyone who has helped us achieve this."
