Record number of Bath Spa University graduates in work or further study
Wednesday, 11 July, 2018New figures show that a record 96.1% of Bath Spa University graduates* are in work or further study six months after graduating. This is an increase from 93.9% in the previous year and secures the University a place in the top 50 UK higher education institutions for graduate outcomes.
The Higher Education Statistics Authority’s (HESA) yearly results, based on the ‘Destination of Leavers from Higher Education’ survey, rank Bath Spa in its highest position to date at number 41 in a list of the UK’s 152 higher education institutions. The results place the University 1.5% ahead of the sector average, and 1.1% ahead of its own HESA predicted performance indicator.
Employability is embedded into every course at the University which strives to be a leading educational institution in creativity, culture and enterprise. Its careers team offers a wide range of extra-curricular skills-boosting opportunities to students including 50 free workshops each term and an online MyCareer advice portal. Working on a one-to-one basis, the team supports students to build their confidence and knowledge, whatever their destination after graduating.

All students have access to the University’s careers service which offers advice including how to make their CVs stand out, get the most out of LinkedIn and prepare for tasks such as those faced in assessment centres.
Through their University experience, many Bath Spa students undertake placements, with a number having gained valuable work experience with international businesses such as Warner Brothers, Porsche, Intel, and establishments connected to their courses including local schools, art galleries, fashion houses and more.
Having gained full university status in 2005, Bath Spa University offers a wide range of degree courses across the arts, sciences, education, social science and business to more than 8,000 students, with campuses located in the heart of the World Heritage City of Bath.
