1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

Online

Part of the School of Education Research Seminar Series 2024-25.

About the seminar

In this seminar Beth Cook presents her research showing how early intervention can support preterm children in the Reception stage.  Due to developments in fertility and neonatal medicine, in ten years’ time it is forecast that there will be between two and three preterm children in every Reception class.

Children born preterm are likely to have special educational needs. Beth’s research explores how Reception teachers' knowledge and understanding of the impacts of preterm birth shape their pedagogical beliefs and classroom practices.
