About this webinar

Since reading for pleasure was included in the National Curriculum in 2013, its profile has risen exponentially.

This webinar will explore the key theoretical frameworks that underpin early reading and the links between developing reading fluency and instilling reading for pleasure; both key, national priorities.

Drawing on the research from Professor Teresa Cremin, this session will present the latest thinking that will contribute to developing a whole-school reading strategy.

"In short, reading can achieve something teachers and policymakers have been attempting for decades: to lessen or even eliminate the impact of early life disadvantage." (DfE 2021)
