About this webinar

How do we embed a culture of inclusion in 2025 and beyond? Felder (2022) suggests we need to look at our definition of inclusion and “should support the learning progress of every student, whatever their background and abilities”.

This webinar will explore some of the definitions currently posed and support you in the development of your own vision and aims for a fully inclusive school.

Drawing on recent research into teacher attitudes to inclusion, four strands will be suggested as ‘pillars’ of an inclusive curriculum. In addition, the recent work of Verity Lush suggests that relational practice forms a key pedagogical approach and should be adopted as part of an inclusive ethos.

It's argued that, “inclusion not only represents one of the main values and elements of an ambitious vision in current educational practice and policy; it also poses one of the biggest challenges ever faced by school systems around the world…” (Felder 2022).

Webinar aims

This session aims to equip teachers with a secure knowledge and understanding of the research that will help you define and embed an inclusive ethos in your school community.

Key takeaways

  • Understanding the move away from differentiation towards adaptive teaching
  • Understanding of relational practice and how it supports inclusion
  • How to develop an inclusive curriculum that promotes Access, Aspiration, Representation and Community, and Belonging.
