Making sense of allyship

Wednesday 1 November, 2023 – Wednesday 1 November, 2023
1:00 PM – 2:30 PM

Online via Teams

As an Existentialist coach, Lou works with the complete and unique combination of identities, experiences, and responsibilities that make you you, and reconnect with your sense of self, values, and purpose.

She also supports individual and organisational allies to navigate and challenge systemic oppression. Lou uses trauma-informed and anti-oppressive practices to support people in their healing from collective trauma and make sense of increasingly complex professional and social environments.

Allies recognise and disrupt systemic and historical oppression, challenging them to create social, professional, and personal spaces that embrace and celebrate diversity in identities and ideas. However, in a world experiencing collective harm and extreme political correctness, it can feel like whatever you do or say is wrong.

In this session, we'll explore what allyship is, why it's important and the principles that underline what we do. Lou will enable you to explore anti-oppressive and difference-centred communication and relationship-building methods that can build trust and promote healing to co-create a more equitable and inclusive culture.
