Do you already have a teaching qualification? You may already be eligible to apply for Qualified Teacher Status.
Depending on where you qualified, the subject you teach and your qualifications, you may be able to use the Department for Education’s professional recognition service, Apply for QTS in England. For more information, visit the gov.uk website.
Please note that if you are eligible for the Department for Education’s professional recognition service, you will not be able to complete a PGCE in England.
All applications to our PGCE programmes are through Apply, even for international students.
When you complete your application, please state your actual qualification titles (not the UK qualifications you believe them to be equivalent to).
We'll ask you to obtain an ENIC Statement of Comparability for degree and GCSE international equivalent qualifications. This is to ensure that applicants meet academic requirements for teacher training in the UK before their applications are assessed. Please visit the Get Into Teaching website for details on obtaining an ENIC Statement of Comparability.
If English isn’t your first language, you may offer International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 7.0 overall, with no less than 6.0 in each component, as an equivalent to GCSE English Language.
