We welcome applications from students across the world. We’re committed to providing a simple and effective application process.

The way you’ll need to apply will vary depending on the type of course you want to study.

For undergraduate (Bachelor’s) courses, international students have two ways to apply. You can either apply through the Universities and Colleges Admission Service (UCAS) or apply directly to us. Either way, you apply using the "Apply now" button on from the course page.

If you’re interested in postgraduate courses, you’ll need to go to the webpage for the course you’re interested in and hit the "Apply Now" button.

Applying for other courses

PGCE

To apply for a PGCE course international students follow the same application process as UK students. You’ll need to apply through the Department for Education Get Into Teaching website.

Postgraduate Research (MPhil, PhD)

If you’re interested in completing a research degree at Bath Spa University, you’ll need to apply through our Graduate College.

Before you apply

Make sure you meet your course's academic and English language requirements. You can check this information on the following pages:

You'll also need to make sure you can finance your studies, including tuition fees and living costs.

If you have any questions regarding entry requirements please speak to your agent (if you have one) or contact the international admissions team on internationaladmissions@bathspa.ac.uk

You may also need to obtain a Student Visa before coming to the UK to take up for studies. We'll be able to support and guide you through this process. Information can be found on our visa advice pages.

International/EU applicants aged under 18

All applicants who'll be under the age of 18 on entry to a Bath Spa University course, are required to provide details of a parent or guardian based in the UK until they reach the age of 18.
For more information, we've a whole page of guardianship guidance and advice.

Once you've applied

Application submitted? Good luck! We'll contact you with further information as soon as your application has been processed.

Some of our courses, including subjects in our Music and Performing Arts and Art and Design departments, may require a selection interview (which if you're not in the UK will be online) and a portfolio. You'll be contacted by the Admissions team if this is the case.

Please note that all interviews will be recorded.

If you have any further questions about your application, head to our applicants section, or contact the international admissions team on internationaladmissions@bathspa.ac.uk.

Get yourself a scholarship

We offer a range of scholarships and bursaries, and once you have an offer, you may be eligible to apply for a Bath Spa University international scholarship. You will need the Bath Spa student number from your application for admission.

Confirm your offer

If your application is successful, you'll receive a conditional or unconditional offer from us. You'll then need to confirm your offer, so that we can provide you with all the information you need before you begin your studies with us. It's simple and easy, and you can do this anytime after receiving your offer - just follow the instructions below.

If you applied directly to us

Simply email or reply to your offer letter saying "I accept my offer of admissions" to internationaladmissions@bathspa.ac.uk. You need to include your name, surname, date of birth, the course you have applied for and your Bath Spa University student number (this number consists of six digits, and you can find it on your offer letter).

If you applied through UCAS

If you're a UCAS applicant, you don't need to email us. Simply accept your offer from Bath Spa University by following the guidelines and the deadline given to you by UCAS.

Personal statements and AI

We realise that AI tools are already reshaping the way we work and will become integral to many careers.

Tools such as ChatGPT can be helpful to you in helping to brainstorm ideas, improve the structure of your personal statements, and check readability; however, so can a trusted friend or supporter. Remember, your personal statement is your chance to show us who you are – and we expect it to be written by you.

A personal statement written using generative AI is likely to be less personal and therefore less effective at conveying who you are and why you want to study the course. If we find that a personal statement has been written using generative AI, we'll consider this plagiarism and your application may be rejected.

UCAS has a helpful guide on AI and personal statements that potential applicants at all stages of their studies could benefit from reading.
