Our LLM in International Commercial Law is more than just a degree; it's a gateway to a successful and impactful career in the global legal arena.

Throughout the course, you'll examine the legal frameworks and regulations that govern international trade and commerce, and be introduced to key legal instruments such as the CISG and UNCITRAL.

What we look for in potential students

Applicants are generally expected to have a good honours degree in law or a related discipline.

In addition, you’ll need to submit a personal statement highlighting why you've chosen this course and your keen interest in the subject.

We're looking for individuals with a strong work ethic, collaborative spirit and a curiosity to explore beyond the standard curriculum.

Legal research and writing skills, practical experience and an understanding of international trade and business may enhance your application.

Accreditation of Prior Learning (APEL)

You may be considered without an undergraduate degree if you can demonstrate considerable relevant experience.

English language requirements

If English is not your first language, you'll need to provide evidence of proficiency in the English language. We accept a range of qualifications including: 

  • A minimum IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each of the sub-tests (Writing, Listening, Speaking and Reading). 
  • TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 75 with no less than 17 in each component. 
  • Pearson PTE with a minimum score of 58 with no less than 51 in each component.  
  • Academic qualifications taught in English can also be accepted, such as GCSE English Language with a minimum grade C/4.
