This specialised Master's degree will equip you with a profound understanding of the legal, regulatory and ethical frameworks governing cybersecurity and emerging technologies. 

You'll develop the skills and knowledge needed to shape policies, advise on legal and regulatory matters and contribute to the development of secure and ethical technological practices.

Learn to address complex legal challenges such as data breaches, cybercrimes, digital rights and the regulation of emerging technologies like AI, blockchain and the Internet of Things (IoT).

What we look for in potential students

Applicants are generally expected to have a good honours degree in law or a related discipline, and you should demonstrate a keen interest in technology and/or cybersecurity in your personal statement.

Our ideal candidates are analytical thinkers with a passion for understanding the complex interplay between legal frameworks and technological advancements.

A basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts and familiarity with technological terminology can be advantageous. However, throughout the course, you will be supported in developing any additional technical knowledge needed.

Accreditation of Prior Learning (APEL)

You may be considered without an undergraduate degree if you can demonstrate considerable relevant experience.

English language requirements

If English is not your first language, you'll need to provide evidence of proficiency in the English language. We accept a range of qualifications including: 

  • A minimum IELTS score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each of the sub-tests (Writing, Listening, Speaking and Reading). 
  • TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 75 with no less than 17 in each component. 
  • Pearson PTE with a minimum score of 58 with no less than 51 in each component.  
  • Academic qualifications taught in English can also be accepted, such as GCSE English Language with a minimum grade C/4.
