This accessibility statement applies to the Bath Spa job vacancies website (bathspa.pinpointhq.com). It does not apply to content on other bathspa.ac.uk websites or subdomains.

This website is run by Bath Spa University in partnership with Pinpoint HQ, a third-party job vacancy and applicant tracking software system.

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
  • zoom in up to 400% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using a keyboard or speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

Technical information about this website’s accessibility

Bath Spa University is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance Status

The website has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standard.

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • When viewed on mobile viewports, one element on the homepage that contains a particular parent ARIA role does not contain the necessary child element and role values which may cause issues for assistive technology.  This fails WCAG success criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships.
We aim to fix this issue by December 2024.
  • When viewed on mobile viewports, the 8 select boxes in the 'Diversity and Inclusion' section on the apply for a job form do not have accessible names. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value.
We aim to fix this issue by December 2024.

Disproportionate burden

At this time, we have not made any disproportionate burden claims.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

PDFs and other documents

The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services.

Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

Accessibility roadmap

We have two small accessibility issues (listed above) that we aim to fix over the next few months. We will continue to test the site for accessibility compliance every three months and update this statement accordingly.

Accessibility improvements

We have worked with our software partner, Pinpoint HQ, to fix all of the issues found by the Government Digital Service Accessibility Monitoring test on 10 June 2024 as well as some issues found through our own testing. The full list of issues and details of how they have been resolved is available on the Accessibility improvements page.

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 2 September 2024. It was last reviewed on 3 September 2024.

This website was last tested on 2 September against the WCAG 2.1 AA standard

The test was carried out by the Bath Spa Web Team. We used a combination of simple manual checks and automated tests to find common barriers to users with accessibility needs.

We tested a sample set of pages that represent the different types of web pages on the site:

  • The homepage
  • a random live job listing page
  • a random live apply for a job page
  • a random live job description PDF document
  • the cookies page
  • the privacy policy page.

Manual checks included using each page without a mouse, viewing the page at different zoom settings, and simulating viewing the page on a small screen.

The automated tests were completed using:
