About me

Luke is a part time lecturer on the BA Dance course at Bath Spa University. In addition to his role at Bath Spa Luke is a dancer, choreographer and community dance practitioner. As a lecturer Luke's specialisms are within contemporary dance technique and performance training, with a focus on safe dance practice and promoting good physical and mental wellbeing for the dancer in training. As a performer Luke has worked with a range of artists and companies, including Alex Howard, Nocturn Dance, Emily Brown Dance and most recently, Untold Dance Theatre.

Luke is Artistic Co-Director of 3rd Stage Dance Company (3SDC). Since 2011 he's choreographed and performed in professional dance works for the company both locally and for regional touring, alongside working with commissioned dance artists to create live works and screen dances. Another role for Luke within 3SDC is leading professional and community dance classes in Bristol and Bath with the aim of enabling adult dancers to discover or rediscover contemporary dance. His work for the company also involves leading outreach projects within healthcare and educational settings throughout the South West, teaching on GCSE, A Level and BTEC courses.

Since 2015 Luke has worked as Associate Director for RISE Youth Dance in Bristol. He has extensive experience in the youth dance sector and is passionate about delivering high quality dance training in a nurturing and supportive environment. In addition to teaching and choreographing for RISE, Luke plays a key role in working alongside the company's Artistic Director, creating exciting opportunities for young people and aiding the development of the company.
